I am new to this group and looking for some advice on a pool heater. I
have a 13 x 24 inground oval pool, 8,000+ gallons, and 5′6″ at the
deepest part. I am considering a Hayward Heat Pro 81,000 BTU heater.
Does anyone have experience with this heater? Also, is this size
sufficient to heat my size pool? […]

April 14th, 2007 · No Comments
Hi everyone…
our power supply for the Aquabot Turbo was fried yesterday (don’t
ask… i’m mad at myself…) The power unit has the numbers 7062C on
it. When I look - it shows that this might be a Canadian model… I
guess I might need to wait until the holiday weekend is over and do
some phoning - does anyone […]

Ok. I have a 18′ x 36′ inground pool with liner. I have just started
to clean it up. (long story, pump burned up couldn’t get anyone to put
new one in) anyway, I’ve spent 120.00 on shock so far and it is still
clouldy and a bit green. Can I put some regular ultra bleach in it.
Would […]

sandblast before retiling OR retile before sandblasting
March 12th, 2007 · No Comments
Hi.
I am wondering if I should sandblast my pool, then retile—OR
perform the retiling, then sandblast?
Can someone tell me which is the better way to go?
By the way, the retile-job will require plaster repair work too.
Thanks.

New Pool Filter
March 10th, 2007 · 1 Comment
Hi - we have no idea how long its been since the sand was replaced in
our pool filter so I scheduled a sand change. (we bought the house
1.5 years ago) They came out today and said that the filter is old
(80’s) and that there was no guarantee that the filter would reseal

Pump Problem
March 8th, 2007 · No Comments
Factory Pump on a 2002 Polaris has gone bad–lots of noise and rubbing
(electric motor feels good). When I take the front plate off the pump,
there is a plastic rotor and in the center of that rotor is the motor
shaft and a round hole with hexigon indentation above it (looks like a
reverse socket on a driver) […]

Is is possible to apply a concrete stain to my plaster pool?
February 26th, 2007 · No Comments
Hello.
I have a plaster pool which I am re-tiling. My entire pool is colored
blue-green. This color is not algae, it has been applied in the past. I
have chipped off the tiles and I find that the plaster has not been
mixed with a coloring agent. The blue-green color sits at the top of
the plaster. It does […]

Leaf collection basket
February 10th, 2007 · No Comments
Hi.
I have a fair number of leaves collecting in my pool, which I assume
most do.
Is there a place that sells a bigger basket for collection?
I have the Dirt Devil pool cleaner which works well, but the basket
fills up in one day.
Thanks very much.
