Oh Boy

April 15th, 2007 · No Comments

We are having quite a time putting in a new liner for our 27′ AG pool. It
has a border in it so the border has to be the C same all the way around in
depth.
I will welcome all the advice anyone can give us. I got a bit from Gary.
It is sitting out there empty […]

March 29th, 2007 · No Comments

Hi group, I have a 18′x30′inground pool, vinyl liner with hayward sand
filter and 1hp pump. Last fall I notice the water going into the
skimmer would slow down. After backwashing and cleaning filter would be
fine for a couple of hours, then it just began to slow no matter what I
did. The old filter had leaks, so I […]

Best test kit?

March 22nd, 2007 · No Comments

I keep seeing people say “get a good water test kit, not the strips!” Can
someone recommend a specific test kit for home use. I don’t want to spend a
fortune on a test kit but I’m willing to pay a little more for something
that’s accurate and easy to use. TIA!

Pressure-side pool sweeps

March 8th, 2007 · No Comments

I am considering replacing my vacuum-side pool sweep (aging Kreepy
Crawly) with a pressure-side sweep. I would like to avoid the cost of
running a booster pump, and I wanted to get other folks opinions on
the options.
Leslies is running a special on the Hayward Phantom ($499 after
rebate). Supposedly, this sweep both sweeps and skims the pool. Does
anyone […]

Chlorine generator comments wanted

February 21st, 2007 · 1 Comment

Hi everyone,
I’m about ready to convert to a salt chlorine generator system. Does
anyone have any recommendations, warnings or other comments about
particular brands and models? I’m looking at the Jandy Aquapure 1400
system, so any comments about that would be great.
Looks fairly simple, but any tips or tricks about the conversion process
are more than welcome, too!
Cannot wait […]

Pros and Cons on The Baracuda G3 & G4 Automatic Pool Cleaner.

Hello Home Pool Owners,
I am in the process looking for a automatic pool cleaner for a in-ground
vinyl pool.
The pool is a 40′x 17′ with a deep end section of 8′.
Also, note the pool also has not one but two skimmers and a floor-drain
with 5 returns.
The unit I am interested […]

Pump/PVC attachment

February 15th, 2007 · No Comments

This may be a dumb question, but that’s never stopped me before. I need to
replace the booster pump and housing for my Letro Legend. To do this, I need to
detach the PVC pipes from the housing. How do I do that without breaking the
pipes, and how do I reattach them to the new housing?
Thanks,
Harry Boswell
