Pool Closing Questions

January 7th, 2007 · 1 Comment

This fall will be the first time I’ve ever closed a pool. I have a
few questions for the learned folks here if you wouldn’t mind. I have
a 12 x 28 Doughboy above ground. My filter and heater are located
inside my garage and the plumbing runs underground between the pool
and the garage. […]

Pump leak, need advice !!!

December 7th, 2006 · No Comments

Stupid me, I meant to turn the return line all the way ON, instead it
was all the way OFF. So all of the intakes were on (skimmer, main
drain, pool vac) and everything else was off (waterfall, fountains,
returns), and it was like this for about 16 hrs. We have a 2 HP Jacuzzi
Magnum Force pump, and […]

Mosquitoes!!

December 2nd, 2006 · 1 Comment

The little blood suckers are horrible this year thanks to all the rain.
Does anyone have any tried and true solutions to keep them away?
Citronella candle torches? Has anyone ever used one of those
contraptions designed to attract and kill them that runs on propane?

Thunderstorms/rain

October 25th, 2006 · No Comments

I am a new pool owner. I just opened my underground pool, and now
thunderstorms and heavy rain is predicted. Will my pool overflow or
become filled with bacteria? Or do I have nothing to worry about,
except for testing the chemical levels after the storm passes?
Thanks for the help.

Good morning all,
If there is anyone here from the Metro Detroit area, can you please
tell me of any “super duper” pool supply stores in Metro Detroit? I
live in Toledo on the Michigan border and can be up there within 45
minutes. I’m specifically looking for a supply store that might carry
pre-made decks such as resin or […]

Decks and Ladders

October 14th, 2006 · No Comments

I’ve been surfing around the web for a deck for my soon to be
constructed 12 x 24 AG pool. I’m not looking for anything elaborate but
do want one of good quality. Resin or aluminum is fine - don’t want
wood. Holy crow, I can’t believe the prices. A 5′ x 5′ resin deck -
$899! A 5′ […]

Salt generator owners, input needed please !!

September 21st, 2006 · 1 Comment

I wanted to hear from actual owners their experience with salt
generators. How often do the cells have to be cleaned ? How often do
they have to be replaced ? How often does salt have to be added, and
how much ? Now that you are not lugging around chlorine, are you now
lugging around something else (like […]
