problem right now. I have the water tested as often as I can but we
are
quite rural and the nearest place is almost an hour away. I also use
the Baqucil strips. Everying comes […]

method for beach, borax, and baking soda. some people like it and some are
adamantly opposed. I have been using it this year with supplemental 3″ tabs

Solar Heaters in New England

July 22nd, 2007 · No Comments

Hi,
Does anyone in New England use a solar heater? Does it allow you to
open earlier and close later? I’m not too concerned with the actual
temperature usually - just curious if they really work. 24′ round
pool, 52 inches, any recommendations would be appreciated.
thanks,

Algae in waste pipe?

July 21st, 2007 · No Comments

After cleaning the pool the other day, I went over to the filter to
backwash it. I noticed at that point that I had some green algae
growing in the waste pipe (the pipe that leads from the filter to the
sewer system). There is a clear area in the pipe (so I can see if the
water is […]

Cooling the pool

July 21st, 2007 · No Comments

I think I found a way to cool off our IG pool. Temperatures here
(Memphis) have been around 100 and the water temp is about 90. Needless
to say, the water is evaporating and it was down about 2″ today (28,000
gal) so I did what I normally do….pulled the hose over and started
adding water. Then, I realized […]

alge growth….

July 15th, 2007 · 1 Comment

Basics: 25k gallon, in ground, 20 year old pool. The pool is mostly
shaded by several (too) large trees. This week (not all summer) I’ve
been getting a lot of green alge growth in the sunny areas of the
pool. I sweep it off (using the brush not a pool vac) and run the
filter overnight, but the next […]
