Pool pump motor to replace Polaris motor?

June 24th, 2007 · 1 Comment

I’m selling a pool pump motor on eBay and I received a question from a
looker that I don’t know the answer to and I wonder if someone here might
know. The motor I’m selling is a 1HP 2-speed motor and the looker wants to
know if it would work on his Polaris pool cleaner pump. He said the motor
he has is a 3/4HP that no longer works and wondered if the 1HP would work.
I said that I didn’t know for sure but I’d ask around. Anybody on here know
and would be willing to tell me? B-) TIA!

No!!! Pumps impellars are different for each HP and must match.
Additonally, there are differnt frames for pool pumps, and a polaris is
a booster pump and would probably be a differnt frame than the pool pump
    you have.
