Swimming pools blog

I appreciate all the info I got on the prevous post of Leak or
Evaporation, but now I know it’s a leak. The water level never gets
below my skimmer and (the kicker) my skimmer box moves when I stand on
it, pulling itself away from my pool. I can also hear it scratching
when I stand in the pool and listen when someone else moves it.
BIG QUESTION, do I need to buy “pool putty” or is there something at
Home Depot or Lowes etc that I can use? I went to 3 local pool supply
stores, they all told me they make their own “smear” and don’t sell it
retail. Finally, the skimmer has been patched inside before, I can
see the sloppy job done the last time. Do I need to smooth that out
(sand it?) first or what…
