Above ground pool ladder not needed

May 31st, 2007 · No Comments

I have a Main Access brand pool ladder that I can not use.
It is for the ground to top of pool only.
It is NOT for the top of pool to inside of water.
I can email you Main Access brochure so you can see
what it looks like. My ladder is still in the box, unassembled.
Main Access […]

Jandy Ray Vac can’t find my corners…

May 30th, 2007 · No Comments

Hello everyone. I inherited a Jandy Ray Vac when we bought our house
with a pool. I hooked it up the other day and it runs pretty good
(only a few connections leaking) and does a pretty good job cleaning,
but it often doesn’t find the “other side” of my pool. My pool is
a “free form” with lots […]

Suggestions to repair pool liner???

May 29th, 2007 · 1 Comment

I would like to try and get one more season from my pool liner. I have
a big hole at the top of one section of my liner of my 18 foot round
pool. I tried to use an inflatable piece of material with glue and
stick it all together along with tape but I must have left […]

Calcium Chloride

May 28th, 2007 · No Comments

Greetings all……
We’re new to swimming pools, and trying to learn as quickly as we can. We are
very
interested in using household products such as baking soda as an alternative to
the
expensive stuff at the pool store.
Is there something to use to boost calcium hardness besides the pool chain
brands?
Thanks for the help, and I hope we can contribute […]

Pool Alarms for Windows & Doors

May 27th, 2007 · No Comments

Hi all,
We are having an inground pool put in at our new home in Northern
Florida. According to FL code, we have to either have alarms on all
windows & doors leading to the pool or have a baby safety fence. Since,
we don’t have any little ones, we are looking at the window alarms. I
think we will […]

brown water pools

May 26th, 2007 · No Comments

One of the members in California mentioned a ‘brown water pool’. That sounds
like poor man’s solar heating, as the dye will absorb more heat than clear
water. Can anybody fill me in on that?

Algae frustrations

May 23rd, 2007 · 1 Comment

Our pool has been giving us fits for, oh, about 8 months now! We are
on the verge of filling it in! It started last fall when the leaves
kept falling into the pool (we have a super treed back yard) and I
couldn’t keep up because I threw my back out. I finally go […]

Hello group;
Anyone have any suggestions on clearing a pine needle clog in a pool
intake line? Daughter vacuumed up a good amount and now the line is
clogged. Can use the skimmer line but would like to have both available.
Pump pressure won’t pull it through.

Tale Of The Pool Sweeper Tail

May 21st, 2007 · No Comments

Greetings,
I don’t play golf but I know that a hole in one is possible. Try
this story - the tail of our Polaris 380 become lodged in the bottom
drain pipe! What are the odds!!
The first sign of trouble was Friday, with a sudden drop in pressure
(at the filter gauge 10psi where […]

no water will go through skimmer

May 20th, 2007 · 1 Comment

Hi,
I just finished vacuuming the pool and I shut the pump off so I could
pull the hose out of the skimmer. When I turned the pump back on, all
the water was out of the skimmer and it was being sucked dry. I shut
it back off and allowed the water to come back in. Now, I […]
