Swimming pools blog

I am not a dealer or anything, and have nothing to gain, but wanted
to pass on a really neat product I recently bought. Some of you may
find it interesting.
I saw an ad somewhere for the Poolbuster Plus pool vac and recently
bought one. It’s really cool. It’s a rechargeable electric sweeper
that fits on the end of a skimmer pole and sweeps the pool using its
own motor and collection bag. And it really works well. I find it
much faster than getting out the sweeper hose, etc, and it also is
much easier on the filter system, as it doesn’t suck all the much up
into your skimmer basket and filter. I find I am not backwashing
nearly as much since I got it. I wish the bag was bigger, but hey, I
guess you can’t have everything!
The other thing I bought a couple years ago that I love is our
HeatSiphon pool heater. It’s an electric heat pump and adds over a
month to either side of our season. I live in Indiana, and our pool

has been at 86 degrees since the middle of April, whereas my friends’
pools are still freezing. And it’s a lot more economical than gas to
run (I ordered it online and paid a lot less than the local dealer
wanted for a gas heater).
