Bleach ?

March 31st, 2007 · No Comments

Ok. I have a 18′ x 36′ inground pool with liner. I have just started
to clean it up. (long story, pump burned up couldn’t get anyone to put
new one in) anyway, I’ve spent 120.00 on shock so far and it is still
clouldy and a bit green. Can I put some regular ultra bleach in it.
Would […]

New Pool Owner high pressure question…

March 30th, 2007 · 1 Comment

Hello all. I just bought a house with an inground pool in VA. The
pool guys opened it yesterday and gave me a very brief overview. I
was told my DE filter should have a pressure reading of 10-12 psi.
high pressure mean back wash and clean out traps (skimmer etc).
Everything ran well, at […]

skimmer flow

March 29th, 2007 · No Comments

Hi group, I have a 18′x30′inground pool, vinyl liner with hayward sand
filter and 1hp pump. Last fall I notice the water going into the
skimmer would slow down. After backwashing and cleaning filter would be
fine for a couple of hours, then it just began to slow no matter what I
did. The old filter had leaks, so I […]

Help! Instant cloudy!

March 28th, 2007 · No Comments

I am new to this group out of necessity…. Yesterday, my pool was
crystal clear… Perfect…. I checked the water and the PH was very
low (like it stayed clear when I put in the red drop)…. So I dumped
in some P-plus. Within 5 minutes, the whole pool looked like milk!
What happened? When I check the PH […]

March 26th, 2007 · 1 Comment

from me!
Major delay in getting the electric done (not planned). the pool is
full just under the eye of the return. The electric will not get done
for a week, dont ask, long nightmare. I am worried about the water not
getting filtered/moving […]

pH not staying down

March 23rd, 2007 · 1 Comment

Hello all,
I’ve got a question regarding keeping my pH down in the proper range.
I have a fairly new (completed in December 2006) gunite/white plaster
inground pool, which is approximately 12,000 gallons. Currently the
TA is around 90. What I’ve noticed is that I’m adding muriatic acid
every week to the pool to keep […]

Best test kit?

March 22nd, 2007 · No Comments

I keep seeing people say “get a good water test kit, not the strips!” Can
someone recommend a specific test kit for home use. I don’t want to spend a
fortune on a test kit but I’m willing to pay a little more for something
that’s accurate and easy to use. TIA!

March 20th, 2007 · 1 Comment

Been trying to prime the pump..finally got the prime, inground, with
hayward pump. I got a new gasket for the small fiter at the motor, but
see that it is still sucking air in. Any suggestions? I was using Majic
Lube for the gaskets but it seems to get real sticky, than ends up
stretching out the gaskets and […]
