Swimming pools blog

I have an above ground 27′ pool. When we closed the pool last year, we
drained the water down about 6 inches, below the skimmer and the return
hose from the filter. Well, after having the cover on for about 6
months now, the water seems to have “evaporated” another 6 inches or
so. I have not noticed any wet areas around the pool, which leads me to
think that I don’t have a liner leak. I wonder if I may have a hole in
the cover and when I drain water off of the cover it is pulling water
out of the pool too.
Should I add water? There are dents forming where the sides are not
supported properly. This is the first year I have had a pool and they
did not address adding water or if I should not let the water go below
a certain level. Maybe this year I should just run the pool all winter
and not close…..
Any advise is appreciated…
