Hi everyone! We have lived in our house for over 4 years and have
always paid someone else to open and close the pool. I’m tired of
paying for something I think I can do myself. We have a pool company
that charges $205 to close the pool and an extra $65 to clean the DE
filter grids. They will install the safety cover and blow out the
lines etc. Is it worth this much money? We have an inground 16 x 32
vinyl lined pool w/a new DE Filter 1 1/2 HP SuperPump. Would anyone
here be able to give me the proper steps for closing for the winter?
We are in Central NJ.
Thanks!!
Jen

Thanks for the tips, Ray! I’m going to stop in this week to see if
they will do the lines for me…Isn’t there a winterizing kit I can
buy that has all the chemicals I’ll need? I’m a little worried about
cleaning the DE Filter myself b/c this is the first season we’ve had
it, but I have the instruction manual for that at least! I’ll let you
know how I make out!
