in 8 years ago. The liner is still holding water but it will need to
be replaced soon. Its a little washed out due to chlorine and sun.
Over the past few years I have been making a few patched every […]

Major Pool Leak

December 27th, 2006 · No Comments

We’ve got a major pool leak in our vinyl pool (6-8 inches a day).
Tracked it down with red dye to the plastic steps at one end. The
bottom step is cracked nearly the full width of the step (left to
right) right in the center. I need some ideas about how to fix it.

December 24th, 2006 · 2 Comments

Hi. Our liner is about 2 seasons old (or new) and while I was
brushing the water line in the deep end, I found a 3/4″ slice in the
liner above the water line. Is there a repair kit out there that I
can use to fix it? I don’t want to have to patch it b/c it […]

Pool Vandalized- What To Do?

December 23rd, 2006 · 1 Comment

Someone put a sticky, oily substance in our pool. We don’t know what it is,
but it is very thick and sticky. We assume that shocking the pool will do no
good. I am concerned that it will mess up the pump because it is so sticky -
there were some white pieces in the pool- when you […]

December 20th, 2006 · No Comments

We just moved to a new house, the 12x 20 inground needed a liner, so I
removed the old one, in the process the extruded plastic moulding
(bead holder/coping?bead retainer?) was ruined. It covers a flat
coping edge (rounded at the top, and with a short lip that grips the
coping at the top . […]

Filter problem?

December 19th, 2006 · No Comments

40×20 IG pool. Sand Filter. Not sure what my problem is. Maybe
someone here can help. We did a poor job covering our pool last off-
season and had tons of debris in the pool when we opened this year.
Leaves, pine needles, dirt. In any case it took me several weeks to
get it […]

Above Ground Pool Questions

December 18th, 2006 · No Comments

1. Sand pump vs. Cartridge pump: We got a sand pump from my mom for
our Intex 18×14 pool. Th e cartridge pump did not seem to be pumping
the water enough. But the sand pump she had has hoses that are
considerably too small for our pool to switch it over. Has anyone had
[…]
