As much as we didn’t want to have to do it, we had to bring out the solar
blanket, clean it up, install the reel and then the blanket — but not to
warm/keep warm the water.
Nope, we have squirrels who delight in cracking walnuts and then tossing the
shells into the pool. They settle and begin to deteriorate, leaving patches
of green on the pool bottom in a very short time.
So the blanket is for protection. Yes, the shells will fall in the water
when the blanket is reeled in, but they’ll only be there until we can get in and
scoop them out. No chance to start fermenting!
Anyhow, my questions are general ones — should the water circulate under the
blanket? How long is it safe to leave the blanket on — day or two at a
time, or longer?
Any other comments or suggestions would be most welcome.
Thanks,
Donna
