First year with new pool

November 22nd, 2006 · No Comments

I have been reading everyone’s posts and have learned a lot. We had
our 18′ X 40′ I.G., Gunite, Diamond Brite Plaster, with diving board,
slide, and spa built last fall. It’s been great! First swim was last
Thanksgiving. We live in E. Texas so with the heater we have a long
season and can heat it up for winter occasions. We have a 4′ deck on
the shallow end and slide/spa side, 8′ on diving board end, and 14′ on
the other side for an open view to watch the children. Salt
chlorinator been great too although I have had to add a lot of salt
due to splash out and fresh water added to the pool from the slide.
Seven grandchildren live close by so the pool has been getting a lot
of use. Three have learned to swim without a lifejacket already this
summer. I have the record for swimming underwater and I rub it in
every chance I get. I tried to talk my wife out of having the spa
added but have to admit it get used a lot by both the little kids and
adults.

I lost my Mother in 2001 and my Father in 2003 and I wanted to do
something special with what they had left to me. There is a picture of
them in our den turned around facing the pool.
Just thought everyone would like a story with no problems.
