New Member question about DE Filter

November 20th, 2006 · No Comments

I just found this group and hope someone can offer me some advice. We
just upgraded our sand filter to a DE Vertical Pro Grid. We have an
inground pool, 16 x 32 and 1 1/2 HP Super Pump. The problem is that
we are not getting 100% primed. I used to never see any air bubbles
in the pump w/the sand filter. Now I see 2 large air bubbles after I
backwash. My pool tech said I have a leak somewhere, but not to worry
about it. Does anyone think I should worry about it? The water looks
great otherwise. Also, should I put the filter/pump on a timer? I
just usually let it run about 20 hours a day. Thanks!!
