Pump problems

October 31st, 2006 · 1 Comment

I am assuming that my problem is my pump. I have used shock n’ swim
and my water is still cloudy. I changed the filter, though it was a
bit late to change it for the store here was out of them for about a
week. The problem is, I turn the pump on and it seems okay. Go back
out in a few minutes and it doesnt seem to be pu lling water into the
skimmer bucket. This is one of the above ground pools from Intex. I
close the valve on the side that pulls the water in, and leave it
closed for a few seconds, and open it back up and it sucks the skimmer
down a bit and starts pulling the water in, i can see the little bits
of debris (grass, etc.) coming toward the skimmer. But it seems to be
pulling it in very slowly for the most part. It’s the 18 foot by 4
foot pool. I went and filled the dog’s water bowl, sprayed off the
patio, and watered a few plants and went back and it didn’t seem to be
pulling the water in once more. I shut off the valve for a few
seconds and turned it back on and it started pulling water in.

I don’t want to let my kids get in it with the water cloudy but I’m
not sure what else to do. I’m out there every day working on it and I
feel like we wasted our money.
