I made myself an endless pool

October 26th, 2006 · 1 Comment

Hi there,
Three times per week (at 6:30 am) I do my workouts in the municipal
pool in our village.
We use our pool in our backyard for recreational fun: when it’s hot
and sticky.
And it is seldom hot and sticky over here in Netherlands.
But now I found out how to use our pool for my training purposes:
I made myself my own endless pool.
From work I took a tube from a bicycle, cut out the valve and tied it
to the ladder and to my ankle.
And there I go: another 100 meters.
I counted out during my workout: 16 strokes is one lane (25 meters).
So now I can double my workout meters.
But only when the weather is fine and nice :) I took some photo’s and you can find them in the folder ‘Endless pool;

Culemborg, Netherlands’.
Comments are welcome.
Kind regards from this side of the Atlantic.
Ivo

Great idea. I kind of did the same thing. I bought a 10′ piece of heavy
duty elastic cord from the local bike shop. I then made two padded ankle
bands with button closures and sewed them to the end of the elastic cord.
Loop that around a vertical pole on the pool fence and attach each band
to my ankles and I can swim all I want without moving more than a couple
    feet.
