I am assuming that my problem is my pump. I have used shock n’ swim
and my water is still cloudy. I changed the filter, though it was a
bit late to change it for the store here was out of them for about a
week. The problem is, I turn the pump on and […]

Who Invited All These Bugs?
October 30th, 2006 · 1 Comment
Hi all,
I have hundreds of tiny black bugs on the surface of my pool, half are
dead, half are alive. I have thousands of dead bugs on the floor of
my pool. They are tiny little bugs and if they bite they sting for a
second but thats it.
I called the company servicing the pool and this is […]

Cement Deck Paint
October 28th, 2006 · No Comments
We have cement decking surrounding our IG Pool. I was hoping to get a
color that is more pleasing to the eye.
Has anybody tried any of the cement decking paints that I see in the
pool catalogs? I am looking for opinions, postives and negatives,
upkeep issues, and would you do it again.
Thanks up front.

I made myself an endless pool
October 26th, 2006 · 1 Comment
Hi there,
Three times per week (at 6:30 am) I do my workouts in the municipal
pool in our village.
We use our pool in our backyard for recreational fun: when it’s hot
and sticky.
And it is seldom hot and sticky over here in Netherlands.
But now I found out how to use our […]

Tile repair
October 26th, 2006 · 1 Comment
I have a concrete and plaster pool in CT that needs a bit of tile work. As
we’re probably going to be selling the house within the next year, I’d like
to reset the (30) 2″ x 2″ tiles that have fallen off at various spots around
the perimeter.
Has anyone done their own tile repair or is there […]

Thunderstorms/rain
October 25th, 2006 · No Comments
I am a new pool owner. I just opened my underground pool, and now
thunderstorms and heavy rain is predicted. Will my pool overflow or
become filled with bacteria? Or do I have nothing to worry about,
except for testing the chemical levels after the storm passes?
Thanks for the help.

Pump Timer Electronics - Help Please
October 24th, 2006 · 1 Comment
Hello,
Greetings to all members - and happy swimming! This is my first
post to the group.
Is there anyone who is knowledgeable about electronics that could
help me determine which component of the motor’s timing unit is bad
so that I can replace it versus buying a new timer? At this point I
do […]

Longest Day - It’s all down hill from here…
October 23rd, 2006 · No Comments
Greetings (and happy Summer solstice to our Druid friends),
Today was the longest day of the year, with 14 hours and 44 minutes
of daylight locally, most of it sunny. Our pool is sans cover (has
been for a week) and yet the water temp is 89.7 degF (32degC) at
this hour.
Not much else […]

Large Pool Supply Stores in Metro Detroit
October 22nd, 2006 · No Comments
Good morning all,
If there is anyone here from the Metro Detroit area, can you please
tell me of any “super duper” pool supply stores in Metro Detroit? I
live in Toledo on the Michigan border and can be up there within 45
minutes. I’m specifically looking for a supply store that might carry
pre-made decks such as resin or […]
