Salt generator owners, input needed please !!

September 21st, 2006 · 1 Comment

I wanted to hear from actual owners their experience with salt
generators. How often do the cells have to be cleaned ? How often do
they have to be replaced ? How often does salt have to be added, and
how much ? Now that you are not lugging around chlorine, are you now
lugging around something else (like acid)? I am thinking about
getting a salt generator and don’t want to trade in one issue for a
whole new can of worms. Thanks in advance for the input !!

Thanks for the input. Scott, I did read your post a few weeks ago,
and it was informative, I just wanted some questions answered. I went
to a few local pool stores and it would cost $1300 installed. If I
buy one online, who would I call to install it (pool contractor,
electrician, etc)? I think it is too complicated for me or my husband
to install. Any advice is appreciated !!
    Thanks,
    Michelle
