OT-Swimming pool Liability

June 22nd, 2006 · 1 Comment

This is a little off-topic but I have recently moved into home with a
in-ground pool, now while we are putting in a fence for the protection
of our children 2 and 4 I was wondering what type of liablity
protection people have for others that swim at your home. I have
heard of people having others sign waivers to allow them to swim.
Just wondering what you all thought?
Thanks
Sharon

I hadn’t thought of this until I came across the topic recently on
another pool board. Then I realized I had an extra “umbrella” liability
policy $1,000,000 so I felt better.
Regardless, you do need to realize that unfortunately (I think) you are
responsible for what happens at your pool. I think????
I guess I should read the other responses. I too am not a lawyer LOL
but I suppose a pool can be a liability.
