Filters winterizing

May 28th, 2006 · No Comments

Hello,
This is my first year with my new Hayword sand filetr. The rest of my
pool is covered and the filter is drained (plug out on bottom)and the
motor and stand brought indoors.
My question - the filter it self is still outdoors. Moving it around
with the sand in it is really tough (it weighs a ton). Some asy it
should be moved into my shed for the winter, some say that as long as
the water is drained and plug is off I can cover it and leave it
outside. Which should I do? If I must move it in a shed, I must lift it
a few inches on the slab to get it in the shed. Provided I can do this,
could that be damaging to the filter to move it around with the sand in?
Thanks in advance,
Kevin
