I’m looking at installing a a pool/spa combo. Since what I want and
my budget don’t match up, I wanted to learn more about
design/installation process so I can add “optional” items later to
save money. It seems the options and upgrades are overpriced
compared to the base pool package. For example, I just don’t see why
adding solar heat should cost $3700 on a $20,000 pool. And $6000 to
$9000 to add a spa (including gas heat and fancy controls) was
something of a shock. So my $35,000 pool is coming in at over
$50,000. Bummer.
So what I really need is some solid technical info on how a proper
pool/spa combo is designed and installed. The pool salesmen have
looked at me like I was nuts when I asked for pump/filter part
numbers and piping/wiring drawings. I’m an engineer (and DIY nut)so
I can do anything myself even if it costs twice as much and takes
three times as long. But I’d rather get some info from the pros
instead of trying to figure it out on my own.
Any links would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Don
