Happy Holidays everyone!
I would like to know what the bottom surface of an aboveground pool
should look and feel like? Should it be smooth with no lumps, bumps,
or pits? Or is it more likely to be uneven or lumpy? Should you be
able to see or feel the support structure for the pool?
I guess this would be […]

looking for help!
May 29th, 2006 · No Comments
Hi all,
We purchased a home with an in-ground pool. We moved in a month ago.
The pool was alread winterized - the people who lived here before us
were very good about pool/yard/house maintenance.
I phoned a local pool company to come give a bid on how much it
would cost them to do […]

Filters winterizing
May 28th, 2006 · No Comments
Hello,
This is my first year with my new Hayword sand filetr. The rest of my
pool is covered and the filter is drained (plug out on bottom)and the
motor and stand brought indoors.
My question - the filter it self is still outdoors. Moving it around
with the sand in it is really tough (it weighs a ton). Some […]

brown stain on fiberglass pool
May 26th, 2006 · 1 Comment
We just moved into our home and it has a fiberglass pool. It has been
was full when the last owners moved out 6 + months ago. It slowly
evaporated, leaving behind a pool filled with leaves and the walls are
stained horribly brown. We cleaned the leaves and powerwashed the
pool, but the brown stain remains on the […]

Skimmer
May 24th, 2006 · No Comments
The skimmer on my in-ground pool doesn’t seem to be doing anything. The
leaves collect at the flapper door, but don’t get pulled in. Any ideas on
what’s happened?
Thanks,
Harry Boswell

Digest Number 731

We have an in ground pool. The frozen pipes were up-ground around the
pump/filter. Sorry, I can’t tell you much more then that except that it
didn’t cost too much to replace the parts, so I don’t think it involved any
valves. I try not to get too involved in the mechanics - that’s the […]

Evaporation
May 21st, 2006 · 2 Comments
Hi! I just joined and I’ve searched the archives but didn’t find
anything quite like my question. If it has been asked, please forgive
me! We closed our 18′x33′ aboveground pool a few weekends ago. We have
several air pillows and the winter cover in place. All plumbing
cleaned and stored. Water was drained below skimmer level.
We’re losing […]

Letro Legend help
May 18th, 2006 · 1 Comment
I’ve been having a problem with my Legend all season - it just doesn’t
clean like it did before (it’s 3 years old). I’ve checked the debris
filter - clean. I’ve checked the unit itself, taken it apart,
everything looks OK. I took the jet box above the unit apart, and
found a gear out of place, put it […]

Storing a Solar Blanket
May 17th, 2006 · 3 Comments
I’m getting ready to close the pool and now have a new,as yet
unglued solar blanket to store. The instructions say don’t spread
it on your lawn because the suns rays will amplify and kill your
lawn. It is too big to spread out on the decking area.
Does it have to be totally dry before you store […]

Exposed interior wall of AG pool?
May 16th, 2006 · No Comments
Got the poop on the black pool liner….
So…
My thought is not to have the interior wall
exposed, but I thought I’d throw it out for
discussion anyway…
I’m working a few deals to get things moving,
but in the mean time, the wall is exposed.
Get it covered ASAP?
The plan is to line the interior with insulating
foam and line the […]
