Solar calculator.xls

The possibility of using solar energy to heat our pool water
temperature is quite attractive, that is why I was excited to see
the “Solar
Calculator.xls” file.
Has anybody used the Excel file “Solar calculator.xls” that is listed
in the group?
The unit measurement is not specified so my question is, should I
asume we are talking square feet? Square feet make sense to me not
square meters. Can somebody comment on this?
If someone has experience with installing solar panels, I will like
to
hear from you. Thank you.

I am in the UK and I use solar panels to heat my pool. I have eight
through flow panels each 4ft by 10ft on the roof of a building near my
pool. There are photos of the installation on file in the Group Album.
The in-ground pool is 30 by 14 ft and 12000 gallons. Five panels of
this size are recommended for this pool at this latitude so the eight
panels I have are very effective. In fact, in the peak summer months
during periods of hot weather I have to leave water circulating through
the panels at night to COOL the water, which can get up to 90 degrees.
Normally I achieve high 70’s and low 80’s between May and September.
There have been previous postings about my system, and others, in the
    group, including more technical details.
    Steve.
