Pool Fences

December 19th, 2005 · 2 Comments

I’m remodeling my pool and now I’m to the part where we’re rebuilding the
fence. According to the Municipal Code, it must be to the standards set out
below:
Sec. 14-301. Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa, and Hot Tub Code adopted.
The Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa, and Hot Tub Code, 1997
edition, first printing, copyright 1997 by the International Association
of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, one copy of which is filed
in the office of the City Clerk, is hereby adopted by reference
as if fully set forth.
Does anyone know high tall it has to be? I can’t find a copy of this code
online ANYWHERE today. A working link would be appreciated.

It is not only height that matters. I think that the spacing of the back
supports matter too, so that the fence can not easily be climbed.

    Ken,
I beg to differ, my rough sawn cedar fence is a great barrier.
However, I’m not sure I’d do it again, it’s not especially swimmer
    friendly.
