We just completed our first season as pool owners and we’ve enjoyed
every minute of it. As I was closing the pool this weekend I got my
first look at a dirty filter cartridge. Wow! I can’t believe it
was still working.
I kept an eye on the pressure guage all year long and it never rose
above 10pps which is where it was when the pool was installed, so I
assumed the filter didn’t need to be cleaned. We didn’t have any
problems with flow or cloudiness all summer, so I didn’t think twice
about it. The water was great.
Was this just luck or is it normal to go all summer without cleaning
the filter? Could my pressure gauge be broken?
Thanks,
Doug

Most people clean their filters once during the season.
