Can anyone clue me in on the most reliable brands of in ground pool
heaters? Another question I have regards closing the pool for the
winter. Will a heater make this chore any more complicated or tricky?
Thanks,

Baquacil revisited (new pool owner)
December 29th, 2005 · 1 Comment
I will be opening my pool for the first time this spring. My 7 yr.
old has sensative skin and suffered from some dry skin problems last
year from the clorine in the local pool. I have read a lot of
negative feedback from ex-baquacil users about pink mold. I am
considering trying it for a year. Any feedback […]

Pool controls - what are my options?
December 29th, 2005 · No Comments
Hi folks!
I own two investment homes in Florida, both with inground pool &
spa. One has a Jandy aqualink system with a phone interface. This
allows me to dial in and turn on the pool heat when a guest is
expected, and turn it off after they leave. The other has a much
simpler […]

Where can I find a replacement pool light?
December 27th, 2005 · 1 Comment
I’ve got a 40-year-old Anthony pool which I just had re-plastered
and it looks great except for one thing — the old pool light popped
during the remodel and I can’t find a replacement. I know it’s
part#39970002 and it has a dark blue lens and it’s listed at
Anthony/Sylvan Pools for $22 — but when I spoke to […]

Painting a cement pool, when can the homeowner do this?
December 26th, 2005 · No Comments
Have any of you cleaned and painted your pool?
I am thinking of paining mine black. But a white or blue is fine. It was
light blue. Now it is white and blue in spots.
If you have resurfaced using non-professional tools, tell me about it.

disaster waiting to happen
December 24th, 2005 · 1 Comment
I have an above ground oval pool 32X15. It was installed in 2001.
Long story short, a new cover I bought in Sept. didn’t fit properly -
was too short on one end, so I weighted down that end of the cover
using cement landscaping blocks on top of the pool wall. It worked
for […]

Which filter is right for me?
December 24th, 2005 · No Comments
I would like to know the minimum size filter (in sqare feet) I can
buy in a D.E and also in a cartridge filter. I have a 26,000 gallon
pool.
From the marketing blurb below, its sounds like the cartridge filter
will clarify the water as well as a DE, but what am I losing with the
cartridge filter since […]

Metal pipes
December 23rd, 2005 · No Comments
I am working on a DIY solar pool heater and I need to know what type
of metal pipe can be used in the plumbing system. I am aware the
copper is not good.
Thank you in advance.

Pool Fences

I’m remodeling my pool and now I’m to the part where we’re rebuilding the
fence. According to the Municipal Code, it must be to the standards set out
below:
Sec. 14-301. Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa, and Hot Tub Code adopted.
The Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa, and Hot Tub Code, 1997
