Pump recommendations for Solar Heater

October 19th, 2005 · 1 Comment

Hi. I have two solar heating panels that I need to install on my
garage roof for my pool. The problem is that the pump that came
with my Intex pool is not able to pump the water up to the roof.
Looks like the pump does not have the proper HP or dynamic head to
push the water up that high. Looks like I need a new pump that can
do the job. It needs to push through about 30 feet of 1″ PVC and up
about 12 feet to the Solar Panels.
Any advice would be great!
Thanks!

For a plan of that sort, unless the pool is quite small, you will not
be able to pump all the water you need to circulate for filtration
through the heating pipe, and you would need to pump some water
through the pipe, while the rest bypasses it.
    How big is the pool?
