Another Product Question

August 24th, 2005 · 2 Comments

Hi,
I posted this question when I first joined the group a while back but
I think it may have been missed in the delay placed on new members so
I’ll paste it in here again:
We have recently purchased a home with an inground pool (80,000
Litres), and yes, it’s our first pool. We don’t move in until the
end of July, but I’m sure I’ll have lots of questions for you then.
For the first while we have decided to take over the same
routine/products the current owners have been using. They say it has
worked extremely well for them so what the heck? They are using the
“Synergy” inhibitor combined with chlorine pucks/sticks. I’m told this
combination works well in our climate (Winnipeg, MB).
Any of you have experience with this Synergy line of products? Any
feedback you can offer? I’d really appreciate any firsthand
experience with this that may come in handy.

Thanks!
Leah

    Hello all.
Probably a dumb question, but is it true that getting my PH and
Alkalinity in line will go a long way in solving cloudiness?
    Thanks!

I recently installed a Pentair Clean and Clear 320sf cartridge filter
along with my .75hp Pentair Whisperflo pump. The combination works
great, and the Kreepy Krawler works fine. But even though the pH is
right, the pool in chlorinated, and I’ve used a flocculent four times,
the water remains cloudy. When I installed the filter, I put a small
amount of media in it via the skimmer to ‘enhance filtering’ as stated
in the instructions. I opened the filter to see if the cartridges had
some sort of covering I had forgotten to remove (which they didn’t),
and there was no media on the outside of the cartridges, which leads me
to believe that maybe the media got disbursed into the pool and it the
reason for the cloudiness. I cleaned the cartridges and started over,
but the water remains cloudy, even though it looks clean. Any
suggestions on why or what to do?
    Mike
