getting my pool ready

June 4th, 2005 · No Comments

I have a loop loc mesh cover on my 25,000 pool. Last year the pool
company told me to add 4 gallons of liquid chlorine to the pool in
March and then again in May. He said to use the Little Giant Pump
to circulate the water in the pool so the chlorine gets spread out.
The pump is a sump pump type that takes water out of the pool when
the water level gets too high because of rain of snow. (They really
did not drop the water of my pool when it was closed)
So instead of pumping the water into the woods I would just pump
the water back into the pool to circulate the chlorine.
I don’t know how many gallons an hour the pump can move but I would
guess it is at the most 200 gallons an hour.
The idea behind this is to keep the water from being green when the
pool is opened in late May.
Does this sound right?
Will the liquid chlorine stain my gunnite?

If I dont do it how hard will it be and how long will it take to
clear up green water in May.
Which way will cost less. Adding the chlorene in March and May or
just waiting to clear it up in late may after it turns green?
