Heidi and above ground pools

June 30th, 2005 · No Comments

Welcome Heidi,
Yes, this list is for above ground pool owners too.
I have an above ground pool, but it was professionally installed.
So I don’t have much to say about putting one up. The only think I
might suggest is be sure to make detailed instructions when you are
dismantling it. There are many pieces to the little buggar. […]

Pool/Landscaping ideas…

June 29th, 2005 · No Comments

I am having trouble figuring out what type of pool I want. I like
the traditional pool look, but I also like the modern freeform
lagoon look.
I have considered everything from a pool/spa combo where the spa
flows into the hot tub, to a pool w/ a lounging area w/ like 6
inches of water & a hole for […]

Inground Pool Cleaner Advice

June 28th, 2005 · No Comments

Was looking for opinions on inground pool cleaners. I have a 25 year
old vinyl 16 X 32, getting pretty worn and I want to make things
easy on her (she has a wood frame).
After a little research online, it seems that you pretty much get
what you pay for (and pay for, and pay for). As I […]

Hi my name is Heidi, I just joined this group and I have some
questions. First of all is this group also for people with above
ground pools? We have just become the owners of a used above ground
doughboy pool. I am thrilled but its turning out to be a whole lot
of work. […]

New Liner Question

June 26th, 2005 · No Comments

Our 18×36 inground Lazy “L” is in dire need or a new liner. Can
anyone provide insights as to what kind I should get. I just began
researching it and they seem to be available in 20, 27, and 30 mil
varieties. I assume these numbers have to do with the thickness or
strength of the liner. Also does […]

Looking for info on Pool Heaters

June 25th, 2005 · No Comments

To get more use out of my pool, I am thinking about purchasing a pool
heater and don’t know really where to start. I live in VT and would
really like to enjoy the water more. I have at 17 x 35 inground
vinyl liner pool about 20,000 gallons they say. (bought the house
with the pool already) I […]

Algae on Pool Walls and Floor

June 22nd, 2005 · No Comments

Hello all,
I was wondering what product you would recommend to
get plaster back white again and get rid off all yellow/brown algae on
walls and bottom.
My pool gets really dirty and it looks old but its only 3 years old.
We brush it every week but I was told that only spreads it around.
The chlorine is also kept […]

Slides

June 20th, 2005 · No Comments

I’m looking to replace my S.R. Smith pool slide because of huge
cracks. Can anyone refer me to an economical source? I guess I’ll
keep w/ the same brand because I will just need to buy the slide, not
the ladder & mounting kit.
Thanks!
