Determining Location of a leak

February 13th, 2005 · No Comments

Hello,
I have not yet closed the pool for the season and have noticed a
couple of tears in my liner and am planning to get it replaced when
we re-open the pool next spring. The tears are at the very top of
the liner above the waterline so I don’t believe they are causing the
leak. I’ve also noticed that the water level drops during the day
while the filter is running, but not overnight while the filter is
off. Is it possible that some piping leading from the filter to the
pool is cracked or leaking or might the filter itself be leaking?
(I’ve not noticed any water leakage outside of the filter). Secondly
does anyone know if this would be a tremendous undertaking to have
someone come in and find the location of the leak and repair it if it
is in fact within the pools plumbing? Thanks for any insights.
