Warranties have nothing to do with the life or quality of the product. They
are a marketing move.
1) They are hoping most people forget about it. One light switch company
changed the warranty from 25 years to 50 years. You have to save the receipt.
Is anyone going to save a receipt for 50 years for a $2 item?
2) The warranty is only as good as the company who issues it. If the company
is a new company with only one item and offers a lifetime warranty, if
anything goes wrong with the product in general, you can bet the lifetime refers
to
the life of the company and not your life.
3) Sometimes the warranty is like buying an extended warranty The only
difference between a 5 year and a 10 year water heater (plumbing, not pool) is

the
price and warranty, not the construction.
