“Anthoshield” product of Anthony pools: defective!?

January 22nd, 2005 · 1 Comment

I’ve just discovered that the ‘amazing’ ‘lifetime guarantee’ pool
surface called “anthoshield” is defective, has been known to be
defective for years, and only discovered it myself when I called
anthony (now anthony-sylvan) pools to complain about being
painted blue everytime I used my once-beautiful little pool!! I did
a google search and found NOTHING on “anthoshield”! Am I the
only fool who bought it? They’re offering to strip out and
re-plaster my pool, but instead of a once-beautiful blue, it’ll be
white and instead of the $8,000 (in 1993 dollars!)
lifetime-guarantee finish, I’ll have, well, plaster! Anybody know
ANYTHING about this? Help?

So, has no one heard of “Anthoshield”? I’m in southern california
    - was it a local thing only?
How about any advice on whether their offer to rip-out and
replaster with a plain white marble/plaster is a good one? Are
there other/better plaster jobs I should be looking for?
    Help?
    Refer me to someone?
    Thanks for any advice/guidance.
