Hi,
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to raise the level of the
deep-end of the pool? It’s currently 10 feet deep and 20ft across by
20 ft long. Obviously there is a slope to the shallow 4ft end. I’d
like to make the entire thing more or less 4ft deep (SLIGHT slope for
draining towards the now deep end drain).
The best idea I currently have is to use a PVC pipe in a concrete
footing to preserve the original drain, then fill up all but the last
6-8 inches with sand and then concrete over the sand base.
Does anyone have any experience with this type of thing?
While I’m asking for help, does anyone know of an easy way to remove
the diving board? Obviously it’s embeded in the concrete at the deep
end of the pool. There is also a slide but it removes from 3 little
feet that are in the concrete and they seem like they will not be as
difficult to remove.
Incidentially, if anyone in the Southern Illinois area wants a slide
and/or diving board, both in good condition, let me know. You would
have to pick it up.

Hey I might want the slide! I am in the St Louis area and have a truck. As
far as filling in the deep end your plan sounds good except I might use more
congrete. Chip off the plaster and concrete a bit at a time because that
much may generate so much heat that it may crack. When you get it the correct
depth then just replaster. I have seen it many times so you are on the right
track. As far as the diving board removal the studs are welded to rebar in
your deck so getting them out is a problem. If you can just torch them off as
far below the surface as you can and then repair the deck.
