Constantly backwashing my DE

When you backwash only put in a fraction of the full recharge amount. Are you
backwashing until it runs clear at least. How old is the filter? There maybe
calcium buildup on the grids causing this.

    to use about 4 or so during backwash. You say cups! Do you mean scoops or do
    you really mean 8 oz cups.
