New to the Group…. and ?’s already

September 11th, 2004 · 1 Comment

Hey all… great group. I have enjoyed the reading so far. I have a
question however. I am not only new to the group, I am a newbie to
pool lingo. My wife and I are discussing selling the boat and
getting an inground pool. We have gone back and forth about the kind
of pool (trying to keep costs to a minimum), but thinking about a
Foxx Liner Pool. I have a guy coming over this week to talk to me
about putting one in… my question is…. what are some good
questions to ask this guy??
Cost… what’s included in his costs…references…warranty… etc.
You get what I mean ?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance !!

Good grief Rock you are swapping a boat with the water on the outside for one
with the water on the inside. LOL! Your pool is no place to scrimp much.
The amount you save now by being cheap will bite you bigtime in 5-10 years.
Build a quality pool now and the investment will only add to the value of the
    house.
You want a vinyl liner inground pool! I would advise you look around at
other options such as a plaster pool. The cool thing about an IG vinyl pool is
that you can change the look of the pool just by changing the liner.
You will need a pump/filter system, a light, and automatic pool cleaning
system (not the infloor system) , decking, the pool. Get several references
    and
check them out in person. Everything should be spelled out in the contract
from when payments are due to what work will be done when. Everything down

to the smallest cleanup detail needs to be addressed. It gives you leverage
for complaints and allows the builder to see what your expect. You need to be
kind to the workers because I have known several ladies to do the
cookies/lunch/lemonade thing for the workers and they were treated to some
    firstclass
    workmanship.
