swampy

Hi all,
My 25,000 gal plaster in-ground pool is a green swamp. I’ve cleaned
out the leaves & pecans from the bottom, & will disassemble & clean
the D.E. filter tomorrow. My question is, when I first dump in the
shock, should the filter be running, or would it be better to just let
it sit?
It is so great to finally have answers to my pool questions! TIA

    Hi Lynda,
Run the punp 24/7 until the pool is clean. That DE filter play as big a part
in cleaning the water as the shock does. Be sure to use some type of algae
control as well. It is not necessary that you use something with copper in
it. Did the leaves and pecans get there from a storm or do you let your pool
go during the winter? How much do you run the pump per day?
