Help needed changing sand in my filter

May 29th, 2004 · No Comments

I have a Pac Fab Triton TR40. I don’t know how old it is so I
thought I’d change the sand.
I unscrewed the glass dome from the top. Under this, just inside the
hole is a white plastic round thing with holes in it (presumably to
distribute the water over the sand). I can’t seem to remove it
without […]

Help! Is it time for a new liner?

May 27th, 2004 · No Comments

I bought a house last fall. We have an in-ground 18×36 pool. The
previous owners had not kept up with it and it was full of green
water and garbage. (Yes, really… shoes, plates, toys, 3 inches of
leaves, etc). We had a pool servicing company come out and they
emptied the pool, cleaned out the gunk, patched a […]

Hello all!
I’m new to this forum and my knowledge of residential swimming pools

them!
My question is that we recently purchased a home that has an
existing swimming pool that was filled in about 10 years ago. We’re
not sure if it’s poured […]

Two new defective pumps?

May 21st, 2004 · 1 Comment

I recently installed a Pentair Whisperflo 3/4 horse pump. My pool
has 1 1/2 inch plumbing. After priming and turning it on, the pot
only filled to about 2 inches from the top. The pump wouldn’t power
the Creepy Krauly. I checked for air leaks but couldn’t find any.
Next I checked the impeller and […]

Keeping Pool Tiles Clean

May 20th, 2004 · No Comments

Hi again all. We had a pool built here in South Florida and are
learning the ropes. Establishing a “Pool Maintenance Routine” is job
one currently. So far so good except for the pool tiles. Anything in
particular recommended for weekly cleaning of the pool tiles? I
searched the archives and came up empty. I saw something online
about arrow […]
