Pool resurfacing-which is best

April 19th, 2004 · 1 Comment

The plaster on the bottom and sides of my pool is starting to flake
off. Can someone tell me first, what is the superior finish. Is it
pebbletec, fiberglass (fibretec), or just go with a good replaster .
Also, how much does this processs go for?? My pool is a playpool 3-5-
4 and is about 35X15. Can’t seem to find any reviews out there on
who’s done what and how much this goes for.

Lenny, each of the different types of finishes has advantages and drawbacks.
If you were satisfied with the plaster on your pool and it gave you a
reasonable amout of service then that may be the way to go. One of the
biggest pitfalls in getting a pool refinished is not the type of finish but
who does the work. If you have a number of local contractors who do pool
refinishing then get some names and address and go look and talk to the
owners. You can spend from $2K to $10K getting a pool refinished so look
hard at your contractor and what they have to offer.
