Why does pH change over time?

February 12th, 2004 · 1 Comment

Just curious really, my water tends towards acidy. This was obviously a true
in the past judging by the number of bottles of pH-plus the previous owner
had lying around.

pH is nothing more than a measure of how acid or how base your pool water is.
Everything you put in it has some effect on the pH including your feed
water, rain even the tabs you use as a sanitize. The best way to keep the pH
as stable as possible is to maintain the alkalinity in the correct range for
your type of pool. This will give the water the best chance to resist any
change in pH. The pH will still move but it may not fluctuate as it does
    now.
