Your first line of defence is the chlorine you use to sanitize the pool.
Next is the high dose of chloring you use to shock the pool. Next is a
product that has been on the market several years and it is used to remove
phosphates from the water. Phosphates are a componet of plant food so if
there is a high concentration in the water then removing them will be a big
step in controlling algae. Last but not least is and algecide of some type.
Some contain copper and should only be used as a last resort when all else
fails. Hope this helps.
