Well, I knew if I went looking I could find a group about pool
owners! My wife and I are currently having an in-ground pool installed
(35×15)and we are too excited! The workers were here until 11 o’clock
last night finishing up the rebar framing so that they could shoot
the gunite today. So as I am writing this I have a beautiful custom
pool hardening in the back yard.
I look forward to corresponding with the members of this forum. Take
care! I will send photos of the finished product in the coming weeks!
Take care

Thank you! Living in Oklahoma and getting these beautiful 101 degree
Summer days, it will be a welcome mat. Not that I am saying the two
are the same, but I have had to deal with water chemistry with my
salt water tanks in my home so I am used to spending time making sure
that everything is right. Our pool is being built by Blue Haven and
they are doing a great job so far. Great communication and letting me
know every little detail as we are going along. The filter that I
chose is called a SmartFilter. Because I am new and do not know a
whole lot about them here is what my paperwork says:
SmartFilterPlus
“This high-capacity unit eliminates the need for backwashingsparing
you and Mother Nature the enormous cost of replacing hundreds of
gallons of chemically treated water every year. There are no trips to
the pool-supply store to buy messy, costly powders to replenish the
filter, and there won’t be any buckets of wet sand or DE
(diatomaceous earth) to haul off for disposal. SmartFilter provides
up to one year of service before it needs cleaning!
The only filter that cleans and purifies your pool water, SmartFilter
Plus traps and helps kills bacteria. Thoroughly treating the water
throughout your entire pool as it moves through the filtration
system, its patented process also inhibits algae growth, reduces
chlorine demands, and gives you sanitized swimming water.”
Maybe someone that has worked with them before can tell me exactly
what type of filter it is.
