An Amerlite model is for IG pools so this I suspect is what you have.
Between the power company and that bulb you generally have a circuit breaker
should be GFI, and on/off switch, a junction box where the light is wired to
the feed from the breaker box. Best thing to do is start at the switch…is
there power? Sometimes the switch box is also the junction box but it
depends on where the switch for the light is. If there is power to the
switch then go to the junction box. If that checks out then you may have a
broken line between the junction box and light. You did not say if the
breaker trips because that is most often rusted conduit has cut the wire to
the light and is shorting it. The wire leading from the back of the light to
the junction box is a sealed unit so do not cut, poke or in any way break
the insulation. That is unless you want your guests to get a charge out of
your pool. Try all this and tell us how you fair.
