to run pumps is impractical. Some of the problems you would have to
overcome are:
Amount of energy needed. Typical pumps are 1/2 to 1 HP, which is 400
to 800 watts (output, inputs are 50% higher). This would require many
square metres of […]

Can coping be sealed?

June 26th, 2003 · No Comments

I picked a light color for the coping around my pool, that is
currently being installed. It is bullnose bricks. Can these bricks
be sealed in order to keep the coping from getting dirty?
Also, the deck will be pavers. Is it advisable to seal the pavers?
They’re being placed on crushed limerock (compacted).
Thanks for any assistance and advice.

Pool Decking, and How Long To Filter

June 26th, 2003 · 1 Comment

cheaper than painting but if you paint it you will need to repaint every four

Your local pool store should have a metal stain removal treatment which
should be followed by removal of the water. Shocking the pool will make the

brown stains..

June 22nd, 2003 · No Comments

tablet. Place the tablet or the sample powder directly over a small
stain area (perhaps a step) with the pump circulation off. If the
stain around the “test” area is removed within a couple of hours,
this indicates that the stain […]

Pinholes in Liner

June 19th, 2003 · 1 Comment

You said you had algae. What type of shock did you use to treat it? If you
used calciumhypochlorite ( I think I spelled that correctly) it settled to
the bottom and bleached your liner. You should use sodiumdichlor for your
vinyl liner pool yes it has a lower available chlorine but it will not damage
your pool. Chlorine […]

I have a 16 x 32′ in ground plaster pool, with oversided filters and

Trying to reduce my Electricity Bill (I’m in California with the
